The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say that these days, everyone can’t help but ask the same question and it’s: does Douglas Forrester have the most traumatic childhood in soap history? So far, it seems like that’s the case. Here’s what you need to know.
Fans were introduced to little Douglas soon after it was revealed that his mother Caroline Spencer had suddenly died. Along with his father Thomas Forrester, the two came back to live in the Forrester mansion with the hopes that they could rebuild their lives without their mother and wife Caroline. Yet, it didn’t take very long for controversy to kick in when Thomas insisted that Hope Logan help raise the young boy. Thomas did that not just because he was looking for help, but also because he’s always been creepily obsessed with the beautiful blonde.
If that weren’t enough, Douglas is someone who has had to hold a lot of huge, difficult and even dangerous secrets to himself. He knew that Baby Beth was alive while Hope and Liam Spencer were grieving the daughter they thought they had lost. He also saw Brooke Logan kiss Deacon Sharpe under the mistletoe and had to keep that information to himself. To make matters even worse for the young kid, he also knew all along that it was his father who had called Child Protection Services to do a welfare check at the Forrester mansion and not Brooke, who everyone had assumed made the call.
With everything going on in Douglas’ life, a lot of people can’t help but feel sorry for the young boy as he is definitely not living the kind of childhood that he deserves. Others believe that things are just a little too traumatic for him, even for the daytime television storylines that we’ve so far seen. Do you agree?
