Days of Our Lives alum Tyler Christopher recently shared a poignant message for his 50th birthday. Here’s what you need to know!
Sharing a photo with both of his children beside him, Tyler wrote, “I have fond memories of celebrating my 40th birthday at The Little Beach House in Malibu surrounded by friends. In the decade since then my daughter was born, I won an Emmy, was the lead actor in 4 television shows, completed a dozen movies, lived in a half dozen states, relapsed and recovered, survived a traumatic brain injury and pandemic, became single again, lost some friends and family, found my savior, embraced God’s will for me, and learned to be content living a quieter life. This weekend I spent my 50th birthday in an obscure Mexican restaurant in Indiana with my two beautiful children. There is no place I would have rather been than with those joyous souls. To those who did not think I would make it to 50 I will share my favorite poem ‘I am the master of my fate. I am the Captain of my soul.’ The best is yet to come.”
Many of his fans commented on his post with, “Happy Birthday, buddy. I’m so happy you are sharing this one with you sweet little ones. Keep on doing what your doing,” along with, “The trials and tribulations have contributed to making you the incredibly empathic, moving artist you’ve always been. I’m so grateful you’re still here, and can’t wait to see what this next decade has in store for you! Selfishly, I hope it’s more acting.”
Back in March, Tyler hinted that his daytime television career might be behind him. During his conversation with Maurice Benard on State of Mind, Tyler hinted that a comeback to the soap world might not be possible. While there’s no doubt that fans would love to see him back on either Days of Our Lives of General Hospital, Tyler said that he was pink slipped by DOOL because of his struggles with alcoholism.
Speaking to Maurice, Tyler made it no secret that losing his job with Days of Our Lives was one of the worst moments of his career. “It crushed me, because I took for granted the one thing I love the most,” he said.
