They surely do grow up fast – and especially in front of the cameras, right? It feels like Carly Corinthos was only pregnant yesterday, yet her daughter Donna looks like she’s about to start Kindergarten! But that’s daytime television for you, right? Here’s what you need to know about the new Donna in Port Charles.
According to reports, Donna Corinthos will be played by actress Scarlett Brielle. She is the daughter of Sonny Corinthos and Carly Corinthos, who are currently separated. “This has literally been the hardest secret I have ever had to keep!” her manager shared on Instagram. “We are so ecstatic to join the wonderful cast of GH and honored to have Maurice Benard as her on-set Dad, Laura Wright as her mom, and the Scarola twins as her sister.”
Many of her fans commented with, “Absolutely perfect for Sonny’s daughter!!!!!!” along with, “Congratulations she’s a cutie and can pass as Sonny’s daughter for sure.”
Now, as far as how much we will be seeing Scarlett on the canvas no one knows, but if there is someone who will be front and center in the coming weeks, it will definitely be her mother, Carly. In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, Laura, who has been playing Carly for years, says that this is going to be a time for growth for her character. She tells the publication, “When she goes home, you’ll see a new side to her. We’ll see for how long! She still is who she is. She’s still a scrapper, she still won’t take stuff from anyone, and she is still a mama bear, protective of her family.”
“But this is something that was like divine intervention,” she continued. “She had no intention whatsoever of ending up in Jacksonville, but she did. This all fell into her lap, and there are no accidents.”
