The Young and the Restless star Michael Mealor (Kyle Abbott) recently admitted that he’s not the best dancer in the world, but that didn’t stop him from showing off his fancy footwork at Mariah and Tessa’s wedding. In fact, he quite enjoyed getting down on the dancefloor even though he admits that he would use a little help in the skills department. Here’s what he has to say!
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the handsome actor puts it this way, “There was one scene, where they needed everybody to be dancing in the background of someone else’s conversation. We were instructed to dance for the entire scene, which is challenging because there’s no music playing. Well, unfortunately, I thought we were only rehearsing, I didn’t know that we were actually taking the scene.”
Michael then proceeds to explain that he took a little action on the dancefloor to get everyone in the mood. Believe it or not, Michael says that he started dancing the Funky Chicken out of all things!
He said, “I also did the Funky Chicken while going around from person to person on the dancefloor, and since I have very poor dancing skills, I’m sure I looked more ridiculous. About five minutes later, I realized they had been shooting the entire time. I was so embarrassed.”
Thankfully, the scene got cut out but Michael is worried that someone “can get ahold of that footage for blackmail purposes.”
We don’t know if someone would want to blackmail Michael, but we sure wouldn’t mind seeing his dancing ourselves to believe it, right? Either way, we have a feeling this won’t be the only time Michael will be forced to bust out a move in Genoa City!
