British Royal News: Meghan Markle Supposedly Wanted To Live In Windsor

British Royal News suggests that her cottage might not have been big enough for her. There’s a new report that suggests Meghan Markle was looking to move to Windsor, but Queen Elizabeth didn’t think it was a good idea and shot it down. Instead, she and Prince Harry had to live in nearby Frogmore Cottage instead. Here’s what you need to know.

British Royal News: Meghan Markle Supposedly Wanted To Live In Windsor

According to a new report, the Duchess of Sussex had requested to move in to Windsor Castle but the queen supposedly waved her hand and said no way. The queen thought that the request was inappropriate and rejected it. Instead, she politely but firmly suggested for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to live in nearby Frogmore Cottage instead. 

One source supposedly said, “The cottage was a big deal. The Queen’s entrance into the gardens is right next to their cottage. It is essentially her backyard, her solitude, and her privacy. She was giving that up in gifting Harry and Meghan Frogmore Cottage. We all thought it was very big of her. She said: ‘I hope they’ll respect it.’”

Back in February, it was reported that Harry had renewed their lease at Frogmore Cottage. However, Harry’s lawyer, Shaheed Fatima, said at the time that the prince “does not feel safe when he is in the U.K. given the security arrangements applied to him.” The prince is legally challenging the U.K. government’s policy that he cannot pay for personal protection from the country’s police force when he travels back to his homeland.

“It goes without saying that he does want to come back to see family and friends and to continue to support the charities that are so close to his heart,” she said. “Most of all, this is and always will be, his home.”
