The Crown Season 5 spoilers suggest that some people believe that the Netflix series might purposely be trying to dig deep under Prince William’s skin. After he made it pretty clear that he didn’t want the world to exploit his mother Princess Diana and her BBC Panorama interview anymore, it looks like Netflix did just that by adding the scene in its upcoming season. This has prompted a lot of people to ask: is the online streamer purposely pushing royal buttons? Maybe.
Angela Levin, who often has something to criticize Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about, took to her Twitter account to comment on the matter with, “How cruel they’ve been to Prince William who pleaded they wouldn’t exploit Diana’s Panorama interview. And how callous to a grieving King and a hardworking caring Camilla. How does Harry feel taking money from the company?”
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for many Twitter fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter. Some commented with, “They could be accurate about the public stuff, like the Queen speech, or the Windsor fire, or so many other stuff. But they chose to sensationalize and lie. They could also be sensible and not show the moment Diana died and the interview. I sure will not be watching this season!” along with, “I don’t think Netflix is exploiting anything. It’s just telling the history of the Windsors from Elizabeth II. It can’t be completely accurate because of FOI, royal archives not public. It’s not a documentary. Prince Andrew took money off Epstein for ex wife and nothing happened.”
Another fan said, “One of the best things on the TV. It’s only fiction they say when we all know it’s true. Well most of it anyway. They are the royal family and perhaps if they had all behaved in a more ‘royal’ way over the years they wouldn’t be so angry.”
There was also this comment: “I just plead with the British public to show their loyalty to William and the King by canceling their Netflix subscription and refusing to watch it. I canceled mine as soon as Netflix decided to employ H&M.”
