General Hospital star Kelly Thiebaud has made a huge confession and it’s one that you don’t hear her talk about very often. The actress, who is best known for her role as Britt Westbourne on the hit ABC soap, recently thanked her fans for their support in her journey towards sobriety. Here’s what you need to know.
On October 28, Kelly took to her Twitter account to write, “It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve had a drink. Not a big deal 4 most, Im sure,but 4 me it is. I’m interested n what life’s like w/out alcohol. I’m doing Halloween sober 4 the first time n I don’t even know how long. Let’s c how much fun sober Kelly can b! Or,how much I can tolerate.”
Needless to say, it didn’t take long at all for her fans and her followers to respond to her post. Many of them said, “Amazing accomplishment!! Thanks for sharing!! You are a true inspiration & it’s tough to have to be “in the Biz” or social & not drink at your age!! You may find later you didn’t need to stop BUT salute & props for taking a break to check yourself before I wreck yourself,” along with, “CONGRATULATIONS BEAUTIFUL!! LIFE is so much better without it.. plus your body & mind will appreciate it!! STAY STRONG you have so much going on for yourself. YOU ARE ONE AMAZING TALENTED ACTRESS WITH A BEAUTIFUL HEART & PERSONALITY!!”
Another fan wrote, “Don’t undermine what you are doing. IT IS a big deal and 2 weeks will soon be 2 weeks then 2 months and before long 2 years, just take it a day at a time and be proud in what you are doing.”
Kelly then wrote a follow up post that said, “Thank you for all the love and support I received on my sober post. I did not expect that reaction from everyone. You’ve given me more focus and motivation to keep going. Love y’all.”
