Days of Our Lives comings and goings say there’s a new face to get used to! Actor Tanner Stine recently opened up about making his debut in this fictional town of Salem. And so far, he admits that it’s been one hell of a ride. Here’s what he has to say!
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the handsome actor says that his new fictional Johnson family has been very welcoming of him and his new character, Joey Johnson. He says this is especially true of his co-stars Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols. Tanner put it this way, “The biggest thing is how kind and welcoming they were. They are both so gracious. They made me feel like a part of the family immediately, which is what I possibly needed most. It was a lot easier fitting in than I thought it would be. They are both incredible and so seasoned, too. It’s cool to watch people do it and know, ‘Oh. That’s how it needs to be done.’ Just to have someone to set that example, I guess.”
Now, as far as his character Joey is concerned, Tanner admits that he didn’t do that much homework on him, but he does know that he spent some time in prison. He explains, “He’s rugged and a bit of a loose cannon, but he’s got a good heart. “
He also added, “I figured it was going to be a recast, and he hasn’t been on the show for awhile, so I would just start from scratch. I go with that approach when I’m tackling a role. I haven’t been to prison, thankfully, but I think we are very similar in our sort of attitude toward life. I had brushes with the soap world beforehand, so I knew that I was in for. I’m enjoying it. I hope they will keep having me.”
Of course, Days of Our Lives and Beyond Salem fans will simply have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next!
