Days of Our Lives managed to make soap history when it aired its first threesome between three different soap characters. Needless to say, the scene has gotten a lot of buzz which has been both good and maybe not so good.

Of course, many Days of Our Lives fans and critics alike sure had a lot to say about it on social media. Many have written comments such as, “The threesome could have been implied. Showing it was just to be salacious. And like another poster said below, why use the lesbian/bisexual characters? Have Marlena and John get down with a threesome,” along with, “For those who are buzzing about this story in the negative, think back to AMC’s Bianca, one of the greatest characters who explored sexuality, not the sex life. If the writers treat this as a long arc story vs. a sensational grab for eyeballs, we have an emotionally rich story.”

Another critic said, “The pathetic people on social media clutching their pearls are EXACTLY the problem with soaps, they are the reason stories aren’t moving with the times and they are the reason the genre is dying. Loved it all except for the 2 females let’s swap those next time with 3 dudes and it will be great.”

And then there was this comment, “The episode, as a whole, was great. Introducing the Chanel mystery, the organic way Johnny and Ava parted as friends because of EJ’s drive to expose her, the thoughtful and realistic handling of two people suffering, having too much to drink and seeking comfort, without crossing the line before they had an adult conversation. And the threesome was very intense, tastefully edited, and a real moment for daytime. DAYS continues to be well written, well acted, and my favorite hour (well, 35 minutes) every day.”
