General Hospital Spoilers: Esmé is The Hook, Why She’s Going After Sonny

General Hospital spoilers reveal the real reason The Hook is targeting Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) — and it’s the last thing anyone expected. Sonny is no stranger to enemies. The body count credited to his organization and personal life is higher than almost every other mobster in Port Charles combined. He’s ruthless, especially when someone comes after the people he loves. The Hook will be no exception, and Sonny won’t go easy on Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) when he finds out what she’s been up to and why.

Esmé’s Explanation Will Shock Everyone

Esmé revealed early on that her nanny, Maggie Fitzgerald, was the only person who really cared about her in the world. Esmé’s adoptive parents were in the process of splitting up due to an affair when both of them met their untimely deaths. Could Esmé have helped them meet their maker? Perhaps she grew tired of their fighting over the betrayals in their marriage.

Regardless, the loss of her parents might have led Esmé to pursue her birth parents — and that’s where her discovery of Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) comes into play. Ryan has maintained that he doesn’t even know Esmé’s birth mother’s name, but it’s quite possible this is a lie. Ryan isn’t sloppy. He’s methodical. He knows every intimate detail of his lovers’ lives he can get his hands on. It’s highly unlikely he isn’t aware of the name of Esmé’s birth mother. What is more likely is that he has his own plan and doesn’t ever really want Emsé to meet her birth mom — at least not until it suits his agenda.

General Hospital Spoilers Says Esmé’s Mom Stepped Out with Sonny

While names like Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil), Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), and Lily Corinthos (Lily Melgar) stand out the most, Sonny has had many lovers over the span of his life and career in Port Charles. The volatile mobster has been known to have a number of affairs — sometimes with women he truly cared for, and other times with women he barely knew.

While Esmé is certainly interested in finding her birth mother, the broken child inside who lost her happy nuclear family is calling out for vengeance. Sonny may have been the man who broke up Emsé’s family home with her adoptive parents by having an affair with her adoptive mother, sending her entire life into a tailspin. Could Esmé’s spree as The Hook all be in the name of retaliation against Sonny for ruining her family.

GH Spoilers Hints Sonny Will Show No Mercy

In the early days of Esmé’s time in Port Charles, her ego got the best of her as she made a mark out of Sonny, letting him play right into her hands as she baited him into thinking Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) were preparing to disappear and leave the country with Sonny and Ava’s daughter, Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola). Sonny will never forget Esmé’s attempt to manipulate him. Finding out she is the daughter of a woman he once found himself entangled with won’t change that.
