The Young and the Restless spoilers say that it’s always great to see a familiar face in a familiar town, right? Well, luckily for fans they’ll get to see Trevor St. John soon enough in Genoa City. The actor recently opened up about his mystery role on the hit CBS soap. Here’s what he has to say!
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Trevor admitted that it was great to be back on a soap set seeing how he hasn’t had any steady daytime work ever since he left One Life to Live back in 2013.
Trevor put it this way, “My first day couldn’t have been better. Everyone, and I mean that literally, was welcoming and helpful. They’ve created a culture there of generosity and positivity that’s really impressive and makes me feel fortunate to be there.”
And while he was certainly happy to be back, Trevor added that getting back into the gear of things wasn’t very easy. He explained, “I don’t think I’ll ever become acclimated. It’s a completely different animal that film and primetime. It’s vastly different than the other multicapera genre, the sitcom. The volume of material and pace of shooting really makes it feel like a tightrope walk in a windstorm. The thing is, you can either embrace it or fight it. The painter Edgar Degnas said, ‘Only when the artist no longer knows what he is going can he do good things.” Well, I hope he’s right, because everything I walk onto the set, I’m totally clueless!”
