The Young and the Restless star Mishael Morgan is reassuring her fans that she’ll be back on the canvas in no time. The actress, who is best known for her role as Amanda Sinclair on the hit CBS soap, recently took to her Twitter account to update fans on her status on the show. Here’s what you need to know.
When one of her Twitter followers wrote to her, “I miss seeing you on screen. Hopefully we get to see you on screen soon,” Mishael promptly replied with, “I’ll be back very soon,” and added a red heart emoji. The Trinidad and Tobago native is the first black woman to win in a lead category. It was a very exciting night for her indeed and one that she won’t forget for a long time to come.
While on The Talk last month, Mishael opened up about her Daytime Emmy win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a daytime television series.
She said, “It means everything. It means my hard work has paid off and I feel like it just…when I was a kid, my dad always told me, you need to be ten times better because you’re Black, just to be seen as equal. And I hope this step forward shows that we can be equal. We’re getting to a place where more of us can just be our best and that’s enough.”
Mishael also said that initially she wanted to be an attorney in her life but “God intervened and I decided to become an actor. And I didn’t understand why, and then I really truly think it’s because storytellers, they have a way of impacting and changing and influencing the world so much faster.”
That said, we cannot wait to see Mishael back on the canvas. So far the producers of the show have not set a return date for her character. Of course, fans will have to tune in for all of the action!
