The Young and the Restless spoilers say that ever since Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) arrived in this fictional town of Los Angeles, she’s been nothing but trouble. Some would say that she’s been the good kind of trouble, while others would say that she has been the bad. Either way, she’s managed to ruffle a few feathers with every member of the Newman family, including Nick Newman, who still can’t get over the fact that Sally manipulated her daughter Summer Newman (Hunter King) to move to Italy. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Joshua Morrow, who plays Nick Newman on the hit CBS soap, puts it this way to the publication, “Nick is intrigued by Sally and it’s in his nature to give people second chances. He’s willing to allow people to kind of find their own path because that’s all he ever wanted from his dad.”

He continued, “He sees that Sally has a drive and ambition that really suits what is the mission statement from Newman Media. He’s really gone to bat for her by fighting Victoria and his father over and over because he wants to see what Sally can do. Nick sees that Sally’s a fighter who’s not afraid to speak her mind, and he respects that.”

That said, Joshua also added that he’s excited about the next chapter in Nick’s life. He explained, “It’s got the potential to be messy and really challenge Nick. I felt like I was sort of coasting around for a while and now, Josh and the writers seem to have some interesting stuff pending with a new lady and the corporate dynamics. I’m excited more than I have ever been in a long time with the show and it’s been really fun.”
