British Royal News says that Meghan Markle did the inevitable. Even though there were a lot of people who sure had a lot of critical things to say about the Duchess of Sussex’s very first podcast, they tuned in to listen to what she had to say anyway. In fact, there’s a new report that says Meghan and her Archetype podcast managed to push Joe Rogan out of the top spot on Spotify, which is a place he’s been in for the last three years. Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, Meghan’s debut podcast has done what many have tried to do before her but failed and that’s snatch the top spot from The Joe Rogan Experience on Spotify’s U.S. podcasts charts. In addition, the show is also number one in Australia, Canada, Ireland and the UK.
Of course, many royal critics and fans alike weighed in on the matter on Twitter. Come comments have included, “That’s a Princess Meghan for ya! Still she rises! We must really thank her haters and naysayers, she really couldn’t have done this without the energy you willingly give her every single day that she turns into Gold! God works in amazing ways,” along with, “Well on behalf of Meghan, I will like to thank all the haters for clicking, watching and sharing Archetypes. Thank you all for your contribution. Please tune in next week for another fantastic episode.”
Another fan wrote, “Even so, as a debut it’s impressive. You have to belittle everything she does—even beating the number 1 podcast simply because it’s her first one…how many other podcasts have tried and failed with big buzz behind them? Don’t you get tired of being so hateful?”
And then there was this comment, “Long time Rogan listener and I think this is great. It proves yet again that long-form media is way better than typical TV. Good for her, Rogan, and us.”
