British Royal News suggests that Meghan Markle might not be winning herself any new fans with her podcast, or at least not from the UK. In fact, she is being absolutely skewered by her critics in her podcast debut. Here’s what she has to say.

During her Archetype podcast, Meghan detailed what had happened when she found out that her son Archie was almost caught in a fire that broke out in his nursery in the home they were staying in. She also said that she was left disheartened when she couldn’t cancel her planned royal engagement even though she was totally shaken up by the fire.

“I was like, Can you just tell people what happened? And so much, I think, optically. The focus ends up being on how it looks instead of how it feels,” she said. “And part of the humanizing and the breaking through of these labels and these archetypes and these boxes that we’re put into is having some understanding on the human moments behind the scenes that people might not have any awareness of and to give each other a break. Because we did — we had to leave our baby… And even though we were being moved to another place afterwards, we still had to leave him and go do another official engagement.”

The Times, which doesn’t seem to me much of a fan of the duchess, wrote, “The first episode of the Duchess of Sussex’s series, focusing on the tennis star Serena Williams, is packed with tinkly music and vapid chat.” Ouch.

British Royal News: What’s Next For Meghan?

Of course, many other critics commented on the matter with, “Don’t tell me…..she’s complaining about something, right? Anything positive from her ever, or is everyone always oppressed. Always the victim. In all fairness, I’ve only seen soundbites from her. Never watched a full interview. Am I wrong?” along with, “The story of the fire – why were they in another room to the fire if it was so cold to warrant a fire (in an empty room). Then it was said it was his nap time so why have the fire in another room? Questions no one has asked. It’s probably another of her lies, she has no problem leaving her babies with staff for days while she swans off to the other side of the world. Worried mum, I think not!”

Another critic wrote, “Me me me, For you to be a relevant woman in the world and have a voice, you must be a social climber, and look for a millionaire husband and prince. I don’t believe a word that she says and I won’t bother listening to any of her podcasts. It just sounds like a waste of time.”

Yikes. The criticism sure sounds harsh, doesn’t it?
