According to a teaser trailer of The Young and the Restless on Twitter, Diane tells Jack, “Even if Phyllis is trying to undermine me, I’m on the lookout for it. And whatever he agenda might be, it will be over before it begins.” Explaining that she knows how Phyllis feels in her life, Diane says that she can’t blame her for feeling threatened by her. She also promised Jack that she doesn’t plan to create any chaos between everyone. But could that really be true?

Of course, it didn’t take long at all for The Young and the Restless fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter. Many of them took to social media to write comments such as, “Phyllis who runs people over in parking lots is considered a saint to Diane who has done none of hte shenanigans Phyllis or Nikki did except play hardball in the corporate world and try to keep women from the men she was currently with at the time,” along with, “Jack can’t stay in an area that Phyllis in for more time than it takes to say hello/bye..but he can sit down by Diane’s side at the park and sit and have dinner with her whilst she finesse him…#YR really…he can be cordial without being accommodating…”

Another critic wrote, “Everyone keeps saying that the Diane character   used to be a bad person, she sounds sincere, I hope she’s not manipulating Jack just to get on his best side, but if she knows Phyllis she needs to watch her back, because Phyllis doesn’t give in to anyone not even Summer.”

And then there was this comment, “Yawn. It’s sad when actors whose characters are supposed to be an eventual couple seem uncomfortable w/ each other.
