British Royal News says that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might want to think twice before they head back to the UK next month. In fact, one royal expert believes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are venturing into the “lion’s dean” with their upcoming trip to the UK and Germany in September. Here’s what you need to know.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams thinks that Harry and Meghan are going to face a lot of criticism the moment that they step back onto UK soil. That’s because a lot of people think that there’s tension behind closed palace doors because of Prince Harry’s upcoming tell-all memoir. That, and everyone is still salty over Harry and Meghan’s decision to throw the royal family under the bus in their seismic interview with Oprah Winfrey last year. The royals still haven’t forgiven them for that one.

Fitzwilliams put it this way in an interview with Newsweek, “What has happened during this period is that their ratings have dropped phenomenally. Their popularity has plunged in Britain.”

“They know when they appear that they are at war with the press here, it’s rather like venturing into the lion’s den now because you’ve got the public who are not supportive and you’ve got the press who are ferociously against them — and then you’ve also got the royal family where there’s a rift,” he added.

That said, it appears as though Harry and Meghan won’t be bringing their two children, Archie and Lilibet, along for this trip. But royal expert Angela Levin still believes that the Sussexes are trying to “envelope themselves in grandeur and pomp that surrounds them” with this trip.
