The Young and the Restless star Jason Canela has some very exciting news to share with his fans! The actor, who was best known for his role as Arturo Rosales on the hit CBS soap, announced that he and his wife Janaina are expecting their first child together! HEre’s what you need to know.
Sharing several photos with their multiple pregnancy tests, Janiana wrote on her account, “I’ve peed on about 24 of these things and it looks like our little baby Canela will be joining the party early 2023 we already love you so much and feel so blessed to be your parents our sweet little one. thank you God for this blessing.”
How exciting! In an interview with Soap Opera Digest back in 2020, Jason admitted that he and Janaina had a quiet wedding ceremony that year because of the pandemic. “We were not able to carry out the ceremony that we wanted due to my wife’s family not being able to travel, so we went to the courthouse and tied the knot,” he said at the time. “Married life has been great! We both have been blessed to come from wonderful, close families and we’ve talked about our future of having kids. What’s great is that we’re both clear-minded on where our focus is and that right now is work.”
Jason also said that returning to the set of Y&R really did feel like he was returning home at the time. “I come from a really big family and there are times when I go months, sometimes years, without seeing some family members, but when I reconnect with them, it’s like no time has passed,” he explained. “We pick up right where we left off from the last time we’ve seen each other and that’s exactly what it was like seeing Melissa [Ordway, Abby] again; it’s like no time had passed. It was awesome. I like to think that Abby still holds Arturo in a small part of her heart [laughs].”
