In fact, Ava and Jake are about to get very serious about their relationship as they are looking to take things to the next level, much to the surprise of everyone around them. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, actor Brandon Barash, who plays Jake Lambert on the hit NBC soap, admits that his character was at first terrified about Ava. And who can blame him, right? Brandon puts it this way, “It’s one of those things where you take two people out of the context of where they are used to seeing one another, which, in this case, is in the Philadelphia mob. Then you put them in a situation where they are forced to coexist and they realize there’s more between them than what they bargained for.”

That said, Days of Our Lives spoilers also say that Ava is definitely showing Jake a different side to her and maybe one that hasn’t been seen before. She’s showing some rare vulnerability without trying to come off as jealous, too.

Brandon added, “He once saw Ava as an impermeable, untouchable wall of a mob boss and a really tough lady, but she’s let her guard down. Jake’s kind of been able to take her wall apart brick by brick, and he finds that intriguing.”
