The Bold and the Beautiful star Scott Clifton recently opened up about playing his character Liam Spencer for the last 12 years. As many fans can recall, Scott made his debut on the hit CBS soap back on July 19, 2010. Here’s what you need to know!
Speaking to Soaps.com in a new interview, the handsome actor looked back at all the things his character has said and done in the past, including all the good times and the bad. He’s had more marriages and divorces than anyone can count, children with multiple women, and of course, one scandal after another! Looking back at his first day on the job, he recalled, “I think I only had to shoot one scene. One of the things I loved about the way they introduced Liam is that they didn’t shove him down the throat of the viewers. It wasn’t like, ‘Here is our new contract player, and you have to pay big attention to him because he’s going to be a big deal!’”
Scott also said that he also learned more about his character’s history and background. He said, “When I met with [showrunner] Brad Bell, he told me that I was going to be the son of Bill Spencer [Don Diamont], and he explained to me who that was and what that meant. But he never once said anything about a love triangle.”
Now, as far as Liam’s relationship with his father Bill Spencer, Scott said, “To this day, I like to tell myself that the triangle is sort of a fun gimmick, it’s something that has kept my character busy, but the real love story for Liam has been the relationship with his father.”
Needless to say, The Bold and the Beautiful fans will have to tune in each and every day to find out what’s in store for Liam!
