Meghan Markle Claps Back At Her Sister Samantha Markle’s Defamation Suit

Meghan Markle clearly has no time with this nonsense. There’s a new report that says the Duchess of Sussex has filed a motion to dismiss her half-sister Samantha Markle’s defamation lawsuit. That, and she has also asked a Florida court to make Samantha pay Meghan’s attorney’s fees. Here’s what you need to know.

Samantha has decided to sue Meghan because of all the supposed “lies” she told during her interview with Oprah Winfrey last year. According to TMZ, Samantha claims that Meghan has been “trashing her” and spreading lies in order to distance herself from her estranged family even more. Samantha points out that during the interview Meghan claimed to be an “only child” even though she and Samantha share the same father, Thomas Markle, Jr. 

Yet, Meghan has filed a motion to dismiss the defamation lawsuit, describing the case as “without merit” and based on allegations that are “demonstrably false.” 

Samantha is apparently also upset that Meghan told the world that she had only changed her last name back to Markle after Meghan started dating Prince Harry. She also says that all of these lies from the Duchess of Sussex are apparently part of a more calculated effort so “they could not interfere with or contradict the false narrative and fairytale life story concocted by” Meghan.

Meghan’s attorney Michael Kump responded to the lawsuit by saying, “This baseless and absurd lawsuit is just a continuation of a pattern of disturbing behavior. We will give it the minimum attention necessary, which is all it deserves.”

Meanwhile, Samantha says the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the British public will “never, ever, get back together” again, as once told by Taylor Swift. Because of Megxit and all of the drama that has gone down since then, Samantha thinks that Harry and Meghan will never be welcomed back to Britain ever again.

In an interview with the Daily Star, Samantha put it this way, “I can’t speak for the British people but from what I’ve heard, the pulse of the people is not likely. Their actions against The Royal Family and the racial mudslinging that took place in the media was so hurtful and egregious that you can’t take back the spoken word.”

So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful anything will be said.
