The Young and the Restless star Kate Linder (Esther) is opening up about her upcoming anniversary special. Here’s what she has to say!
Kate teased what fans can expect from her upcoming episodes that will revolve around the life of Esther Valentin. “The first one is a sort of retrospective,” the veteran actress told Soaps In Depth. “I love it. You’ll see flashbacks from years ago with Esther. It’s really, really great.
“And then the second one,” she teased, “there’s another character, a role being played by Sam McMurray, who’s an excellent actor and you’ll totally recognize him. So I’m thrilled to be working with him. These are great episodes. I’m really excited about them. I can’t wait to see them myself! I loved taping them.”
If that weren’t enough, Kate also opened up about working with the legendary The Young and the Restless actress Jeanne Cooper, who plays Katherine on the soap.
“She was in makeup and I walked up to her,” she said about their first meeting. “I went up to her chair and introduced myself and told her that I would be playing her maid today. And she looked at me and just said, ‘Well, it’s about time!’ as only Jeanne could do.”

Who cares! Why are we bringing back and old, used up charecter? She has no relevance now what so ever. And she gets a boyfriend too! So another usless charecter. Ludicrous. 🤦♀️
I have always thought that film clips from past episodes are an inexpensive way to fill up time on a soaps episode. I'll have the fast forward on my remote ready.
I think the guy that played her dating match is a perfect match for Esther. I think it would be great if the writers would have them as a couple and be on the show off and on instead of only once.
