Another royal pregnancy, eh? That seems to be the neverending storyline for Prince William and Kate Middleton as the future king of England once again joked about his wife being broody around babies again. But it’s not like we haven’t heard this before, right? Here’s what you need to know.
According to a new report, Prince William and Kate Middleton got some attention for visiting St. John’s Primary School in Scotland, where they got to hang out with young students who were learning about empathy by observing a student. “Can you get my wife out of here before she gets broody?” Prince William, 39, joked about Kate, 40 while there, as he was clearly concerned that the baby would make his wife want to get pregnant again.
“It makes me very broody,” Kate shared. “William always worries about me meeting under one-year-olds. I come home saying, ‘Let’s have another one.’”
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for both fans and followers to weigh in on the matter on social media. Many of them commented with, “This is probably the bigger one for me – it’s really about getting attention for the visit. I didn’t see any US headlines on my social media about this visit in itself, but I saw headlines like ‘Kate wants another baby!’ ‘Kate feels broody!’ So it’s become their go-to to ensure the visit gets attention, and it makes the attention all about them and not about the visit itself,” along with, “That’s what I saw, too – Will is taunting her in public. It’s personally cruel and generally old-fashioned. Not a modern couple if they’re behaving like 1950’s sitcom.”
Another fan wrote, “They have 2 lines, either she is broody or George would be jealous of whatever they are doing. Going around announcing in public that you are broody is weird and not genuine. Just pandering and looking for good PR.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter, nor have William and Kate said anything about their future pregnancy plans, either.
