Kristen Stewart Wants To Reprise Her Role As Princess Diana

Kristen Stewart says that she had such a fantastic experience playing Princess Diana in the film Spencer that she wants to do it again. In fact, the Hollywood actress, has even been nominated for an Oscar for her role, which might also be another reason why she wants to reprise it in the future. Here’s what you need to know.

Kristen plays the Princess of Wales in the film Spencer, which depicts one weekend in the early 1990s that made Diana realize that her marriage to Prince Charles was over. This was during their Christmas holiday at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England. Not wanting to deal with all of the royal drama anymore, Princess Diana announced to Charles then that she wanted to step back from life as a member of the British royal family.

In an interview with Gold Derby, Kristen said that she wouldn’t mind playing Diana in a different period in her life. She put it this way, “If I played her at a different time in her life, it would be different. It was bottomlessly fascinating. I would be so into doing another one. I want to play her again.” 

Kristen added of the princess, “She was a wonderful person… I loved learning about her. I really loved being affected by her. Her energy is stunning.”

Meanwhile, Kristen admitted back in February that she only learned about ‘Megxit’ from an interview with Vanity Fair even though she did some extensive research about the royal family prior to filming “Spencer.” She had also just watched snippets of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah, which aired back in March of last year. As many fans know by now, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family back in January 2020. Since then they’ve been living with their family in sunny South California.

Now, whether or not Kristen Stewart will get to play Princess Diana again in the near future remains to be seen. Until then, we will definitely keep our fingers crossed for her!
