Prince William Says His Children Are Asking About The War in Ukraine

Prince William’s job as a parent is just as tough for him as it is for millions of other mothers and fathers out there. The Duke of Sussex admitted that his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, have been asking about the war in Ukraine. This has prompted both William and Kate to have some serious discussions at home as William says that his children are talking about  the war with their peers at school. Here’s what he has to say.

Prince William Says His Children Are Asking About The War in Ukraine

“Ours have been coming home asking all about it,” he said. “They are obviously talking about it with their friends at school.”

In discussing the issue with his children, he said he had to “choose my words carefully to explain what is going on.”

That, and Prince William also added that Prince George has become more and more aware of the world’s problems, despite his young age. 

“George at school recently has been doing litter picking, and I didn’t realize but talking to him the other day he was already showing that he was getting a bit confused,” said the Duke of Cambridge. “[He was] a bit sort of annoyed by the fact they went out litter picking one day and then the very next day, they did the same route, same time and pretty much all the same litter they picked up was back again.”

He continued, “And I think that for him, he was trying to understand how and where it all came from. He couldn’t understand, he’s like, ‘Well, we cleaned this. Why has it not gone away?'”

British Royal News: What Did Prince William Say?

Just last week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge showed their support for the people of Ukraine by releasing a statement on Twitter and Instagram. William and Kate took to their social media accounts to write, “In October 2020 we had the privilege to meet President Zelenskyy and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future. Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future.”

The royal couple signed their statement with “W&C.”
