The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victor Is Questioning Ashland’s Cancer Battle

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that if there’s anything that we’ve learned about Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) over the years, it’s that he can spot a con from a mile away. Now that Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) cancer battle is taking a positive turn, it should be good news for everyone, but for Victor, he sees it as a growing concern. The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Victor Is Questioning Ashland’s Cancer Battle

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith says that Victor is rightfully suspicious of both the sudden improvement of Ashland’s mental health and his attitude shift every since he acquired Newman Media with Newman/Locke. Griffith puts it this way, “Victor sees the potential of Ashland initiating a power struggle, so he decides to trust his gut and explore his concerns about Ashland.”

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Victor decides to confront his son-in-law with the connection that Ashland all of a sudden has to the Peruvian clinic where he was been receiving treatments, which also happens to be a place that he has personally been funding. Ashland says that he first became aware of the clinic when a friend of his had cancer and was treated there until his health turned around. That’s when he decided to become a benefactor himself, even before he got cancer. However, Victor smells a rat.

Griffith further explains, “His intuition is telling him that there’s more to this story because Ashland’s explanation is too polished. Victor will play his cards close to the vest and now reveal his concerns to Ashland but have Michael ramp up his investigation in Peru.”

For the time being though, Victor decides to keep his daughter Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) in the dark about all of this.
