The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is taking a chance with Michael Baldwin (Christian J. LeBlanc) as he offers to hire him to become his legal council. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, The Young and the Restless Co-Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith says that Victor has been operating in a wait and see mode when it comes to Ashland. He put it this way to the publication, “At this point, Victor believes his concerns about Ashland are valid and decides to discreetly launch an investigation. Michael is someone that Victor knows has always trusted, and Victor knows that Michael isn’t afraid to do whatever it takes to get the job done.”

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Michael will say yes to working with Victor, who also wastes no time in getting down to business. Of course, this shouldn’t surprise anyone that knows exactly how Victor operates. His mission right now is to push away Ashland as far as possible, and that might not be easy seeing how he’s been spending time underneath the Newman patriarch’s skin this entire time.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Is Michael In It For The Long Run?

Griffith continued, “Victor will charge Michael with investigating Ashland’s health, which quickly leads to more questions than answers. This begins an umbrella story affecting many of the characters.”

In other words, this new partnership might turn out to be morally lethal for some people in this fictional town of Genoa City. Now, whether or not Michael and Victor uncover the truth about Ashland, his cancer, and his business dealings remain to be seen. Michael sure has plenty of work to do in front of him.
