The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say that fans will soon be seeing a new face in this fictional town of Los Angeles. That’s because actor Akbar Gbaja-Biamila has joined the cast as his new character, Max. While we don’t know much about Max yet, his portrayer has given us a little insight as to what fans can expect in the coming weeks ahead. Here’s what you need to know.
If Akbar looks familiar to daytime television viewers, it’s because he is a former NFL player and commentator and also the current host of American Ninja Warrior. He’s also the new co-host of The Talk, which makes him one of the busiest television personalities out there. He’ll be making his The Bold and the Beautiful debut on January 18th as Carter Walton’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) new scene partner.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Akbar opened up about his new role on the hit CBS soap. He said, “Man, I was so excited. I won’t give the scenes away but he’ a friend of Carter’s, so the scenes are fun and friendly. It’s not just Forrester business stuff. He’s a person in Carter’s world who the audience hasn’t seen, but he has been around. Akbar is so great. We worked this stuff! It’s amazing to be in a scene with someone who is just two times bigger than me. I’m usually, like, the biggest guy on set and then he waked in and I was like,’ I feel like a child!’ He’s an athlete and it shows.”
Akbar also hints that while his role might have been a minor one, he had so much fun on the show that he’s hoping to come back for a second round of filming sooner rather than later. He added, “It was a great time and I hope he comes back. It makes sense, so I’d love to see that happen.”
It’s without a doubt that The Bold and the Beautiful fans would love to see Akbar, too. Watch this space as we have a feeling this won’t be the last time that we’ll be hearing from Akbar.
