The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) is about to have one heck of a year, now that she’s started a new chapter in her life: motherhood. Here’s what you need to know.
According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby on the hit CBS soap, says that her character is going to embrace all that’s good and bad in the coming months. She’s now a mother to baby Dominic, which means she’ll be faced with all of the trials and tribulations that come with motherhood. If that weren’t enough, it looks like she’ll be dealing with a lengthy custody battle with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), who clearly wants to spend more time with the young tot.
Melissa put it this way to the publication, “I would love for Abby to embrace the ups and downs of motherhood. At this stage of her life, maybe she’s not very good at it, so there can be some comical moments as she learns what it takes to be a real mom.”
Interestingly enough, Bryton James, who plays Devon on the show, also added what he would like to see happen to his character in 2022. He said that he would love to see Devon along with Lily and Nate, be more involved in Hamilton-Winters so they can take on the big guns in Genoa City – Jabot and Newman Enterprises.
Bryton put it this way, “When Kristoff St. John was with us, we talked about Hamilton-Winters being run by the family and becoming a prominent company. Also, Neil in his will put Nate on the board and even though it hasn’t been brought up again, I think it’s a huge story to play. And since Devon isn’t really close to Nate, especially after what happened to Elena, if Nate was on the board, he and Devon would be forced to work with each other and would always have a problem.

Yes, I agree Abby needs a backbone now & to step up to being best mom she can. End battle with Devon . Talk to him as friend and keep contract as is . Devon get busy with work n Nate and Amanda’s relationship .
AND Another vital role as wife to helping her husband Reenter as husband and Daddy !!!! There’s no mention of Chance and that bothers me. I help vets and she should also be focused in helping him create bond with Dominic & family & Not run away again!! He’s brave so now he needs to step up to being husband n Daddy . It’s Not easy . We all have that struggle . I’m looking forward to the fun with the 3 of them. I really like Chance . He’s adorable . Lighten up the storyline a bit & don’t be like the other soaps all trouble & gloom!!! Please !!
Devon is the God Father and that’s it. He needs to respect Chance and Abby. Give them time to bond. He already stops in more than he should. Yes Abby needed him at first being a new mom. She stopped Miria because she was to close to Dom. If anyone had right to the attachment it was her because she carried the baby and was kidnapped and bonded with the baby. Devon back off start your own family
I love Y and R, just disappointed with Phyllis, I liked the old one. Get rid of Chelsea can’t act, just a blob. Nick and Sharon, all the way. Love, love, love Victor! His daughter, although homely, can act. Please bring the old Phyliss back, she was at least pretty. This one has too big of a shaped mouth!
