Apparently, Devon has gotten very attached to Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) baby, prompting a lot of viewers to ask: does Devon have his regrets about fatherhood? The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Devon basically blindsided Abby when he asked if he could have more unsupervised visits with baby Dominic. After all, he was the tot’s sperm donor and he was there when the baby was born. And while he knows all too well that the baby belongs to Abby and Chance, it looks like he might be holding on to some form of regret, as he’s trying to spend as much time with the baby as possible so much. There might even be a custody battle brewing soon.

Of course, many The Young and the Restless fans have taken to social media to weigh in on the storyline. Some have commented with, “This whole storyline has been a mess from the get go. Why would Devon, who wants children, volunteer to be the sperm donor? They never played any beats like what if he and Abby grew closer? And for months establishing that Devon was just a donor with special uncle status, now he wants joint custody?” along with, “Devon: About time. Would have made more sense for him to go this route after Abby was acting crazy in regards to Chance, but I’ll take it. Makes no damn sense that Devon would give up his first born child to a virtual stranger.”

Another critic wrote, “I’ve never been a fan of this story because I.knew … As did the writers and fans… That Devon would see himself better than others and demand custody whether shared or not. Devon needs an edge to him and right now he is just annoying. Make this a love triangle with Abby and Chance, not a battle for the kid.”
