The Bold and the Beautiful fans have surely gotten to know actor Ted King as Finn’s father Jack Finnegan on the hit CBS soap, but of course fans also want to know more about the man and who he is, both on and off screen. Luckily the handsome actor recently sat down with Soap Opera Digest to offer some of his “favorite things.” Keep reading below for all that you need to know!
When asked about his favorite childhood memory, Ted offered, “It was Cinco de Mayo, I believe. When I was a kid, we went down to Mexico and I competed in a bongo-playing contest. I won first prize and I got a free set of bongos. That was a great memory, especially because I’d never competed in anything at that point publicly, so it was nice to get something for my efforts. I think I was 5 years old, I’m guessing. It’s kind of a wild story.”
Ted also was asked about the most memorable thing he’s ever received from a fan. “When I did the music column ‘King’s Spin’ for Soap Opera Digest, I still have one framed on my wall. I was very proud of that column. It might have been the first one. A fan sent it to me framed, and it was a review on a Springsteen album, I believe.” he said.
Interestingly enough, Ted was also asked who he would like to work the most with in the daytime television world. And for a lot of soap fans, his answer isn’t surprising at all. He said, “Eric Braeden [Victor, Y&R]. I’ve never met him, but I would love to work together because I’ve admired his work for so many years and how he manages to play that role so convincingly day after day.”
Do you hear that, The Young and the Restless producers? Here’s hoping that Y&R and The Bold and the Beautiful can do another soap swap special just so we could see Ted and Eric share a little screen time together. Fingers crossed!
