The Young and the Restless spoilers for 2022 say that it’s certainly going to be an interesting year for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). While she’s definitely had her fair share of suitors in the past, it seems like she’ll be spending a lot of time trying to figure out her future, with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) on one side and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) on the other. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, The Young and the Restless Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith previews what’s ahead for Phyllis and the men in her life. While Phyllis has been trying to figure out exactly what her relationship with Nick means to her – both personally and professionally – she’s also been doing a whole lot of flirting with her other ex, Jack. As many fans can recall, they certainly did look like they were into each other during the Thanksgiving episode, in which they spent it together, but while alone at the same time.

Griffith puts it this way, “Nick and Phyllis are both at a crossroads as they enter the New Year without each other. Nick will distract himself with work, while Phyllis examines Jack’s role in her life – and future.”

Of course, Phyllis isn’t the only person in Genoa City trying to figure out her current relationship status. The same can be said about Lily Winters (Christhel Khalil) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and their relationship, too.

Griffith offers, “Billy’s revenge plot takes an unexpected turn which could potentially backfire, while Lily balances her new role as Chancellor Industries CEO and Billy’s partner-in-crime.”

In other words, there are going to be plenty of fireworks ahead, and not just the celebratory kind. It will definitely be interesting to see what decisions are made in the coming weeks.
