Now, Devon is reconsidering the conditions he agreed to. What feels like a natural progression for James’ character also equals good soap.

Abby is fully part of Team Chance. But that tag is applied to their marriage and being in love.

Abby is Dom’s biological mother. That is the leading reason why Abby has resisted Mariah’s desire to spend alone time with Dom.

Devon knew that his efforts were intended to allow Chance to become the father. Abby’s enduring friendship led her to believe that Devon would never challenge parenting matters. Teasers indicate that he will.

Abby has had so much to deal with this year. So, it is understandable that she has not been tuned into the emotional attachment level Devon reached.

Devon delivered Dom into the world during a very soapy kidnapping rescue scene. Chance was unable to be in Genoa City, Wisconsin during that time in the plot, which afforded Devon a highly unusual opportunity.

The gravity of circumstances, Devon’s backstory in losing a child before birth, and the subsequent bond he has made with Dom combined to cause reconsideration.

Abby is okay with Devon’s involvement in Dom’s life, but she does not think of him as a co-father.

It would not be fair for Devon to believe that he should assume a regular role in Dom’s life, meaning some form of regular time spent with him away from Chabs.

With whatever the law says, or however legal issues could be pursued, Devon made an agreement and should stick to it for Dom, Abby, and Chance’s sake.

Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) recognizes Devon’s deepening bond with Dom. However, she should steer Devon toward a healthier mental outlook. Her approach can include focusing on Demanda’s future, which should involve Amanda and Devon having children.

Chance would have returned to GC if he could have. But his accepted mission prevented him from doing so. Any attempts beyond heartfelt requests to spend time with Devon could be viewed as a betrayal of Abby’s trust and include the potential to destabilize Chance’s recovery process.
