The Young and the Restless Star Melissa Claire Egan Opens Up About Chelsea’s Return – Does She Have A Chance With Adam?

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Melissa Claire Egan is back, which means fans will be getting to see more mischief and mayhem thanks to her character, Chelsea Newman. There’s also a possibility that she might be pinning for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) again. Here’s what you need to know.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Melissa says that she has surely missed her co-stars and her Y&R family while she was gone on her maternity leave. She says that after she gave birth to her son Caden in August, she felt all the love from her soap fam. “Greg Rikaart [Kevin] brought me a lasagna and Lizzie Hendrickson [Chloe] brought a box of diapers. I was constantly texting with Josh [Morrow, Nick], and his wife, Tobe, designed our nursery. And Catherine Bach [ex-Anita] came over and visited the baby the other day. I just love her,” she said.

And even though it might have felt a little difficult leaving Caden behind to go back to work, she’s happy to be back on the set of The Young and the Restless.  “People were like, ‘Aw, are you anxious? Are you sad?’ and I’m like, ‘No, I’m good,’ ” she laughs. “The truth of the matter is, it’s healthy. I’m obsessed with my son but it feels good to brush my teeth before noon again and have a reason to shower. It’s healthy to have adult conversations and to use my brain in another capacity when it comes to memorizing my lines. I was definitely anxious about having to learn all of the material again with not a lot of sleep, but the body is an incredible machine. It’s fascinating how your body just figures it out and manages it, so it hasn’t been as bad as I thought. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still tired and need a shot of espresso in the afternoon, but it truly feels good to be back.

The Young and the Restless News: What’s  Next For Chelsea?

Now, as far as what’s next for her character Chelsea, it looks like she is trying to make amends with her former partner, Adam Newman. But little does she know that he’s actually moved on and has somewhat attached himself to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). But if there’s anything that we’ve learned about Chelsea Newman over the years, it’s that she’s a woman who always gets what she wants, regardless of how challenging it may be to get it.
