The Bold and the Beautiful news says that John McCook’s (Eric Forrester) co-stars have nothing but love for the veteran actor on the show. Here’s what you need to know.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who plays Steffy Forrester on the hit CBS soap, had this to say about John, “He had such an impactful story arc – at the heart of his was physical and emotional intimacy. He played every nuance with such tenderness and understanding. The range of his emotions was perfect and his performance was authentic and layered. He deserves the Lead Actor Emmy for his work this year.”
And it seems like Jacqueline’s co-star Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester) wholeheartedly agrees with what she has to say about John. He added, “He never ceases to impress me, especially with his most recent storyline. He played it with grace and dignity and sincerity and honesty.”
Needless to say, even John knows just how much his character has changed and gone through the wringer over the years. Back in September 2020, when asked by Soap Opera Digest how many times his character has been married on the show, Eric replied with, “That’s hard. Are we counting remarriages? If so, I’d say six, but I don’t know. I know there were also some weddings that were supposed to happen but didn’t, and certainly not all of those marriages were wise choices, either. Obviously, Eric must have been like Ridge and must have been dead drunk for at least three of them [laughs].”
Now, that’s certainly something a lot of The Bold and the Beautiful fans can agree with, right? And here we thought it was his son Ridge who couldn’t make up his mind on whether or not he wanted to remain married or divorced to Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). Ha!

John is a superb actor. He has the right passion and/or compassion for any scene he plays. I’d love to have him for a real friend. He’s the most put together star in this TV show. Please never ever get rid of John and his character.
