In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, Hope and Deacon grow closer in their bond and realize that they share a mutual love for martial arts. For actor Sean Kanan, who plays Deacon on the hit CBS soap, it was familiar territory for him, seeing how he had a role in the 1989 hit The Karate Kid Part III.

Sean said, “We actually trained with the same guy many years ago, unbeknownst to either of us, until we started talking. Deacon has a history of martial arts on the show, and Hope has definitely learned to defend herself over the years. It was a great match.”

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say that the daddy and daughter duo will share a workout together at her house, and that’s when they also happen to let their guard down. In fact, their common interest in martial arts is what also helps serve as a connective bridge between them. However, their bond is interrupted by an unexpected arrival that disrupts their harmony. And yes, this triggers an emotional moment for Hope, who just wants to spend time with the father that she never had without having to deal with anyone else’s judgment.

Sean continued, “Hope is formidable. If there’s a good cop, bad cop thing going on, I might be a little more leery of disturbing Hope rather than Deacon. You do not want to get on the wrong side of her.”
