The Young and the Restless spoilers say that while this might have seemed unimaginable not too long ago, it seems like Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) are trying to mend their father and son relationship with a new peace offering. According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, it’s Nikki Newman (Melody Scott Thomas) who calls for an emergency meeting to get Nick and Victor on the same page. Needless to say, Nikki pulls a fast one and of course, Nick is annoyed by it. That’s because Nick arrives to see no crisis and his father sitting at the chessboard.

Speaking to the publication in a new interview, Joshua Morrow, who plays Nick on the hit CBS soap, puts it this way, “He says to Victor, ‘I bet you’re annoyed by this, too.’ and Eric goes, ‘Nope. I think we should talk.’ That wasn’t even in the script and I said, ‘That’s why you are Victor friggin’ Newman!’”

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that the two men have an intense conversation and yes, it seems like they are making progress. That’s because both Nick and Victor understand that they love each other no matter what and they want to understand where all of this tension between them is coming from.

Joshua continues, “Nick has spent most of his life begging his dad to accept him for who he is and Victor is hoping that Nick can understand what he wants from Nick. Victor has a blueprint for his kids to follow and when they don’t, that creates drama. This time, Victor seems to really hear Nick, so is Victor capable of giving Nick what he truly wants?”
