General Hospital star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) is mourning the loss of his father, Humberto Morales. Even though his father passed away back in October, Maurice has just shared a family photo from his mass on his Instagram account this week. Here’s what he has to say.
“As I lay here with a heavy heart but no anxiety knowing I will never see my hero again,” the actor shared on Instagram on Oct. 30. “My dad was one of a kind. No one like him. Those who knew him know what I’m talking about. My dad always said in Spanish, ‘What’s going to happen, it’s going to happen. Don’t worry.’ Say hi to everybody, Dad. Maybe you can even sing a song with Frank Sinatra.”
Sharing a photo with both his mother and his brother by his side, Maurice captioned it with, “I believe when someone dies they leave you with a gift. And it can come in all forms. I’m so glad I was able to spend some time with my brother and my mom at my father’s Mass.”
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for Maurice’s fans and followers to share messages of condolences on his page. Many of them wrote, “I’m so sorry for your loss. Regardless of our age, losing a parent makes most of us feel like a lost child again. But as long as we have the memories, I don’t believe that our loved ones really ever really leave us. I know that in some way, both of my parents are still with me in life even though they have both passed. What the eyes can’t see, the heart surely will feel if we believe.”
Another fan wrote, “Wow what a great looking picture. I’m so so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad Maurice. May the Lord help you and your family thru this time,” along with, “I’m so sorry for your loss. Grieving loved ones is something we all go through and it can actually bond us. I am thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.”

I love Sonny and we will miss Jason and and the other man that laughed. General hospital is doing the wrong thing these actors have been on here forever and I watch general hospital every day since 1969 way back in the day and never ever ever have I seen someone I'm tree a character from your show the way they have treated on today. And for Nancy she needs to learn to learn to keep her nose out of other people's business and keep your mouth closed shows her Don't tell her anything that you don't want the whole cast to know I should blurt it out. That's called a troublemaker and anyone that needs to go would be Nancy.
