General Hospital news says that the viewers have spoken, and they’ve made it pretty clear that they want to see Jason Morgan back in Port Charles, regardless if he’s dead or alive. This comes after reports that said the producers of the hit ABC daytime television show won’t recast the character now that Steve Burton is no longer with the soap. That’s because both he and his former co-star Ingo Rademacher (Jasper Jacks) refused to comply with the network’s vaccine mandate against COVID-19. Here’s what you need to know.
General Hospital viewers say they want to see Steve Burton back, and only Steve Burton. That, and they’ve also pointed out that Jason Morgan is tied to so many character storylines, that he needs to come back in some shape or form. Getting rid of the character completely, according to both fans and critics, simply doesn’t make sense.
Many of Steve Burton’s and General Hospital fans have taken to their social media accounts to express just how they feel about all of this. Some comments have so far included, “Steve Burton IS Jason Morgan. I have been a loyal follower of GH only since Steve Burton was brought back to reprise the role after the producers tried to replace him. I have no interest in continuing to watch now that Mr .Burton is gone,” along with, “I know Steve will be back in time! General Hospital will never be the same without him and the producers know it! There are so many actors on General Hospital that have been on for many years and they also make the show great! Don’t give up hope! We love Steve and Pray for his return soon!”
Another fan put it this way, “Absolutely ridiculous…..too many story lines that Jason is involved with. I was devastated the last time he left. Alexis needs to be the one to go with her push for the firing of Jax and probably Jason too….this is America and no one should be forced to take a jab if they don’t want it…. he had Covid so he has the antibodies which are more effective than the vaccine. Poor choice GH!!!”
So far the producers of General Hospital have not made any comments about what they plan on doing with Jason Morgan’s future or all of the storylines that he is currently tied into.

Sorry GH loyal-time fan but until the ABC changes the covid-19 rule that we won't see Steve Burton as Jason Morgan. I got a bad feeling that I must get used to the idea that there will be a new actor is Jason Morgan.

This is BS, even with replacing Jason Morgan now it would not be the same. He makes his role as no one else could! I will stop watching GH if Jason & Ajax are not brought back as originals (at least Jason). So disappointed in GH!!!

I'm really upset about Jason leaving the show. I know for a fact that the ratings will drop. You need to get him back on. If you get a replacement it still will not be Jason. Noone can play his character he is one of a kind. We all know that you can definitely do something about this.

I have watched since the show first aired and I will not watch anymore if Steve Burton doesn’t return. No one should lose their job because they don’t want the vaccine. Many others feel the same way, ratings will go down and the show will be cancelled. Then you all will be looking for new jobs.
I agree! If the vaccine is that great, he should not need to take it. You can't mandate that someone put something in their body that they don't want. Be thankful that you have the right to take it if you choose. Your rights shouldn't infringe on someone else's. Steve Burton did nothing wrong, and he will ALWAYS be the best version of Jason Morgan! Why should everyone else have rights and he and Ingo have none? A mandate is not a law. Show me the executive order!!

I too have watched since day one and am a loyal fan, not of just one actor but of the show. Steve Burton is a great actor and loved as Jason, BUT he's not the entire show. So I don't see how you can say you won't watch anymore if he's not brought back. I too think they should bring him back but if everyone else has complied with the rules, he shouldn't be an exception for the protection of everyone. Just saying. We've put up with a lot worse (bad storylines and the like) and have lived thorough it. Don't get me wrong, I like him but won't stop watching if he's not brought back

Steve Burton is no better than any other actor on GH. If the vaccine is a requirement he should have to follow the rules. Why should 2 people out of a cast of 50 be considered special? One person does NOT make a show. He should be shamed, not ABC. Too many people in this country are allowing this pandemic to continue because they think they are special.

Not everyone believes in the vaccine. Some people are allergic to the ingredients and others can't vaccinate for health reasons. Also there are others who don't vaccinate for religious reasons. Freedom of religion is right there in our Constitution. I am NOT an antivaxer but I don't believe in a vaccine thet was developed in such a short time. I had Covid last Spring so I don't think I need this vaccine. It is puely political.

I go back to the Luke and Laura days (they were married on my 17th birthday)…. Haven’t watched for a couple weeks now. I’m afraid that if they don’t Bring Burton and Rademacher back (or at least apologize to both of them and offer to take them back) soon, I may be done for good. I suppose outside of the key demo anyway so I’m sure they won’t miss me.

I love Steve Burton as Jason. I always have. I use to watch ALL the soaps with my Grandmother growing up but only GH stuck with me. I understand Steve and respect his decision but please please please don't write out Jason. He means so much to so many storylines and to fans like myself. Even though it's a soap my heart still breaks for Carly and Britt. Hasn't Carly been through enough loss? And Britt going from Villan to someone who has a heart and finally opened it again and was starting to be a better person and she looses the 1st man that softened her heart. I've cried and just wanted to hug both of them every scene they were in. Come on guys let Jason come home to people who love him so much. When the mandate is lifted then have Steve come back to us. Don't disappoint your Jason fans no longer.

Please bring Steve Burton back. I’ve been watching since the cave collapse and gh is just missing something. It’s lost it’s luster. He was a main character and I was watching because of him. I didn’t like it when he was gone and replaced the last time. Please listen to the fans. They have just lifted the vaccine mandate for hospital workers so why can’t gh lift the mandate. Health care workers are exposed more than the actors to covid. Doesn’t make any sense especially since he had covid and gas antibodies.
