The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal Abby Newman Chancellor falling deeper into despair as the prospect of widowhood and single motherhood daunt her to the point of near-collapse.
It’s clear with all the focus on the fact that Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) prescribed Abby (Melissa Ordway) anti-anxiety medication that can help her sleep where Y&R is headed with this story. She is about to become a drug addict looking for her next pill fix just like The Bold and the Beautiful’s Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was in 2020. That addiction happened practically overnight and this one looks like it’s about to do the exact same thing.
Abby was falling apart before she even learned Chance Chancellor was presumed dead. After all, she seemed to have no idea how to take care of the baby she wanted so very much and now with Chance gone, Abby feels she needs to turn the baby over to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) for a while so she can have a chance to deal with things emotionally. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go, at least in Abby’s mind.
As Abby falls deeper into her addiction, it makes sense that Devon would want to sue for custody of Dominic. After all, his legal father is allegedly dead and his mother has no idea what she is doing with him. Devon is the baby’s biological father and the only person who can even seem to make him stop crying.
Devon will become more attached to Dominic than ever and perhaps become even more attached than Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), which is a pretty hard task at this point. And that’s when Abby’s miracle will come. It will turn out that Chance is alive after all. He returns to town and Abby is ready to live happily ever after with Chance and the baby, but now Devon wants to keep him.
Will Devon have any legal grounds once Chance returns? Abby might be happy to have her husband back and that can help her beat her addiction, but she has already proven herself to be an unfit mother. Will Devon use that against her or let his heart be broken and let the baby go? Stay tuned to The Young and the Restless weekdays to see how this story plays out.

Really. This is ridiculous. She took one pill. First you have Abby being a dumb bimbo and now a drug addict. I know people get addicted to pain pills. Like yesterday. She took one and was past out That is not how this pill works. You are so over the top
