Will We See A When Calls The Heart Christmas Special This Year?

Fans of When Calls the Heart have been waiting for news of their favorite Christmas special, but it looks like they will be disappointed. While the channel has revealed its annual holiday movie lineup, for the second year in a row, no When Calls the Heart Christmas special is listed.

It seems that for the second year in a row, Hearties will be disappointed that there is no Christmas visit to Hope Valley on the Hallmark Channel. As of now, the channel has revealed titles and premiere dates for 30 new holiday movies. In fact, Countdown to Christmas 2021 kicked off on October 22 with You, Me & The Christmas Trees.

The programming event runs through December 19 and concludes with ‘Tis the Season to Be Merry. There are a number of highlights this year, with new movies starring popular Hallmark stars like Lacey Chabert and Candace Cameron Bure among the enjoyable selection.

However, sadly for Hearties there is no When Calls the Heart Christmas special on the schedule this year. Previously, Christmas-themed episodes dropped on Christmas Day. However, last year it was canceled due to the pandemic and it looks like it also won’t be back this year. To cheer fans up, season 9 of the popular series is set to have 12 episodes, rather than the usual 10, so there is that.

When Hope Calls Christmas Special

As a consolation, the show’s spinoff, When Hope Calls is getting a Christmas special. In fact, season 2 will premiere on December 18 on GAC Family with a two-part Christmas-themed episode.

This Christmas special marks the return of Lori Loughlin to acting after she completed her prison sentence for her role in the college admissions scandal. She will reprise her role as Abigail Stanton on the GAC Family series, along with her adopted son Cody (Carter Ryan). That’s not all, as Daniel Lissing will also star in When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas in an as yet unknown role.

In the Christmas special, the residents of Brookfield are putting on a holiday festival and generally beautifying the already pretty town. They hope to win the title of America’s No. 1 country Christmas town.

Meanwhile, it turns out not everyone is in the festive spirit, including a troubled young boy at Lillian’s (Morgan Kohan) orphanage. However, a secret Santa appears on the scene to make everyone’s day and grant their holiday wishes.
